Short Bio

Dr. Zhibin Yu is currently Professor of Thermal Energy at the James Watt School of Engineering of the University of Glasgow, UK. His research is focused on thermal energy technologies and their fundamental thermodynamic, heat transfer, fluid-dynamic problems. He has extensive experience in developing novel technologies for sustainable heating, cooling, and power generation, including heat pumps, refrigeration, energy storage, district heating/cooling networks, organic Rankine cycle power generation technologies, and thermoacoustics. Prof. Yu has led or contributed to over 30 projects with total value over £25 million, funded by EPSRC, Innovate UK, and EC. Prof. Yu published over 140 papers in the areas of thermal energy and thermofluids. He is a Specialty Editor in Chief for Frontier in Thermal Engineering and editorial board member for Energy Reports and International Journal of Green Energy.
